Rimas y Leyendas

Bécquer's work was a complete renewal of the poetic language of the nineteenth century. Far from the rhetorical excesses of previous literature, Bécquer seeks a much more symbolic and evocative expression. Thanks to his refined and suggestive language, the Sevillian author manages to catch us in the mystery of his Legends or thrill us with the lyrical intensity of his Rhymes. In short, a universal poetic voice that announced, as reflected in these pages, the birth of contemporaneity.
